How does this thing thing come apart. Want to try the hose washer trick. Currently operates intermittently.

Unscrew the tach amp cover, turn it over, you will see the male pin carrier in the bottom of the cover, hold the cylinder portion (cover) firmly in one hand and grasp the pin carrier portion with the other hand, wiggle and pull the two parts in opposite directions, they will feel snug but will come apart. Once seperated you will see the top of the pin carrier has a silicon potting material, that is where the "hose washer" you are going to use will sit, it will add pressure to the pins so they will make better contact. Install the male pin carrier to its female counter part with your "mod" in place, Install the cap, it will go on easier than it came off, when you tighten the cap you may have to adjust its tightness to provide the proper pressure to the pins. Hopefully your tach will operate correctly when your done.
