In picture 9, isn't the clamp on the fuel inlet hose? There woudn't be an in-line filter on the return (cigar) hose which I think is also in the picture.

You might consider new delivery valve seals when you have the high pressure lines off.

You mean on the injection pump, under the spring?

So now you tell me!

SWMBOs 300d was leaking when we bought her; I just yanked the old tubing off, replaced it with new stuff and then I had to mow the yard.

And to think that if I had played my cards right, I could have spent a leisurely afternoon under the hood of my Benz changing those little hoses instead of pushing that stinking mower...hmmm.

Them's the ones.

Maybe they're a if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it item on 617s?

603s have an o-ring between the delivery valve cover and the delivery valve case. It doesn't seem to be the case on 617s.

Sixto - interesting

On the 617 the order at the IP is, reading from top down:

fuel line
pipe connection (the 14mm/13mm threaded brass connector)
compression spring
delivery valve (the latter two are removed when timing the injection)
copper sealing ring

....but I have not heard of any of these being replacement items.

Any one else know on the 617?
