Where this connector should go to?

Dear friends:

Please help me find where the marked connector in the attached image should be connected to. I will attach 2 images in 2 separate posts (2 parts). The first part indicates the source of the wire and the second part shows the continuation of the wire
in the first part and also the connector at the end. I don't know what the purpose of this wire/connector is, and where the connector must be connected to. This is on a 1981 240D manual.

I believe this is the cruise control speed pick-up/sensor line and the connector it fits into is very similar to the one in your picture, so if you can't find it there, it would seem to me someone removed it. Hope this helps, Jim

That looks like my tach sensor wire. Is your tach working? If that is what it is, my 300d connects to the cylindrical plastic tube on the drivers side fender.

I think all 240D's do not have a tachometer.

oh, sorry. Consider yourselves lucky then! my 300 does, but the sensors and everything are so shot, nothing will fix it!!
