WTF: MB diesel limousine
I decided to post this in the Diesel section because I knew it will get more traffic rather than in the cars for sale section. Anyways, one of my brothers is looking (playing) around the idea of buying an 80's model diesel limousine (and diesel only, hehe). A few years ago I saw a 126 300SD and a 123 300D limousine for sale that were sweet. He wants something like that. If anyone can locate one of these in the U.S. (I've tried and they're very hard to find) for sale he'd sure appreciate it. The main reason he really wants one is because he thinks they're cool and he has a band, so the much extra room would help transport things around in. I've also seen the white one on Ebay a few months back (don't really care for the color white, I know it's not uncommon in Limousines though.)
Any leads would sure be thankful. TIA -Jamie |

I think the W123 300D limos are actually factory limos....
I've seen them on ebay every now and then. They are indeed cool limos. Very different to the usual Town cars, X5's, Escalades, etc. |

Yes, some W123 diesel limo's came from the factory. There was a long-wheel base W123, keep in mind that not all W123 limo's came from the factory...

If they can make a Hummer and a PT Cruiser into a limo, they can do anything

You can find factory 240D and 300D limos on eBay. Be aware that these are not the pimp limos common to the US. These are basic 123s with a folding forward facing jump seat to sit 3 passengers between the front seats and the rear bench. Nice rear legroom when the jump seat is folded. No TV or bar or dividing window from the factory. Think about it as the German version of the Checker Marathon.
If it's for a band, maybe they can spruce up a LWB Checker Marathon. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |
