Is it a Mercedes Tranny

I thought Mercedes only made a 4 speed stick shift back in the70's and 80's. Is this 5 speed original Mercedes equipment or are you converting some other manufactureres 5 speed for the purpose?

Sorry wrong place

Meant to post this in response to the thread about converting the 240D auto to 5 speed.

First lesson in Forum thread inside information....

All you have to do is delete the first post and all the thread is deleted....

So delete it and go post your question where you really wanted it....

but the answer is they made 5 speeds... at first an 'add on' to the trans container.. and later the shell was changed to incorporate all 5 speeds...
