Abnormal Wear / Inside Right Rear.
 

What woud cause the inside of the right rear wheel to wear? All other tires are wearing normally, but the right rear is wearing way fast on the inside. No noticable pull or drift while driving.

I just had the same thing happen on both my driver side tires. I immediately went to get an alignment and they found both wheels to be within specs. The next thing they though was that maybe the tires were wearing there natuarally and finally gave out...
In other words no one could tell me why this happened.
Sorry that I'm not really any help but I just couldn't pass up commenting on this since it cost me a bunch for tires all the way around...

I had almost the same problem on my '80 300SD except it was both rear tires wearing on the inside.

I took it to an Independent alignment shop to have the rear wheels aligned. They said there was no adjustment on the rear wheels.

So they aligned the front wheels and the rear wheels stopped wearing on the inside. Last time I took it to a MB dealer for alignment, they charged me for a 4-wheel alignment. I wonder if saying it is a 4-wheel alignment is just so thay can charge more?

Inspect all the rear suspension links, control arm bushings, etc very closely... replace anything that's worn or damaged. Sounds like excess negative camber on that one tire only, which is usually one of the rubber bushings in the links. Alignments may not cure the wear, if that is the problem.

Have you checked the pressure in the tires? Sometimes the obvious is overlooked. I run about 33psi in my rears and they don't wear as bad now. Before I had the same thing as you, the left rear would wear really bad on the inside..... now it doesn't so I guess it was bad tire + too low pressure (28psi).

It's doing it again...
 

Well I just drove down to the SF Bay Area and in my 550 miles the car is once again wearing a rear tie on the inside dramatically...
I have not had a chance to check the rear end mounts yet but I am pretty certain that I must have a bushing or several that are worn out.
An interesting thing this time is that the last it was both front and rear ont he drivers side, this time it is the rear only on the passenger side! Too weird.

Oh well, another project...;)
