talk them down on on used car price

I had the rear end oil changed at jiffy-lube for about
thirty bucks with a $5 off coupon, yes, I am remorseful
to admit that. I had recently bought the car and could
not find the 14mm hex required to do the job. I'm sure
they use the cheapest oil possible (and barely gave it
time to drain) so I was worried after many months and
leaking fluid. I paid somebody (2 bucks) to weld a 14mm
nut onto a 14mm bolt so I had the ability to check the fluid
level. Well the bolt just snapped in half. I found a good
lifetime warranty 14mm hex shortly thereafter and to my
suprise the fluid was not low. It will be changed to a higher
quality fluid soon now that I have the means. The diff is
making a whining sound but I'd bet it is just because the
fluid was not changed for the first 270k miles. Is there
anybody out there willing to argue that any 90weight (or
140) will continue to do the job after 20 years, 270k miles?
