I think we are both correct in what we are saying. My use of the word "correct" may be misleading. My point is still that numbers can come back within spec but taken using incorrect procedures and therefore the alignment is not right.

Ok,, I have reread this and it looks like you are referring to stuff that can happen with some kind of machine involved ... (and suspect operators )....(?)
I have not even seen any machine except a measureing bar used for this.. so I am clueless..... Also, I never understood what " total toe in" included as compared to just ' toe in'... I followed the MB book setting the toe in on my 1981 wagon...on the ground.. ( I mean dirt )... that was not fun.. ramps save your back..... so my only concept of toe in is that the front of the tires are closer together than the rear... because when traveling, for some reason ( I suspect play ) they then position themselves where the distances are the same... and the vehicle tracks straight... THis " come back within spec".. come back from where ? Just call me simple minded on this one... |
