New seals, No water

on my kids 240d the front and rear window seals were shot. Previous owner used black silicone to try and hide the cracks but give me a break, "that dog don't hunt"
Bought the rubbers here, had them done by a local glass shop yesterday. Rained like a B***h last night and for the first time the car has no water in it
She paid for it, about 150 for the rubber, and 150 to install. I have seens posts here of people doing this themselves but don't think I would try it. She now has a 77 240d Florida car with under 200k miles and rust free. Should last her several years of problem free use.

Did the shop give a guarantee against breakage? If so, please let me know the name of that shop. When/if I decide to invest some more in the 240 it could use a rear window seal. That's not something I'm interested in doing myself.

I watched the guy do it and the way he did it has been documented on this site. He said there are two types of rear glass, one in tempered which was what was in this car, the other is laminated like a front windshield. He said tempered is better and will take more abuse and not break near as easy.
As for a no breakage guarantee no way. I have yet to find a shop that will do that for you. I found this shop by calling around to all the indy Benz shops and the local dealer and asking who they used for glass replacement. All but one place gave me the name of the shop I used. They come to you. Was very happy with the job and care the tech took in doing the job. I'm in St. Pete Florida and if you need the name I will post it.

Yes, please do. I'm St. Pete right this very minute working for Home Shopping Network. I got a referral from Crown for a shop to do the windshield on the E300. They're TERRIBLE. They screwed up the chip repair, and it has been over three weeks now that I'm trying to schedule a replacement. That's Novus Auto Glass.

Call AGA...

727-442-5656

Tell them Action Imports recommended them to me (Jim Shanklin) (one of many places that did recommended them but they deal with Action all the time) and they just did my 77 240d yesterday.
I bought the seals from FastLane here. The tech said the quality of the rubber was far better than what he was used to seeing his own shop send out. They charged $75.00 per window and the whole job took about 2.5 hours. He did have to clean out all kinds of black silicone but no extra charge to do it. Like I said before, they come to you to do the job.
No I don't get any kickback
