his reply

I have received several e-mails from people that feel I am misleading everyone on the mileage of this car. As it says in the ad, it is being soldTrue Mileage Unknown I know that Car Fax has the car listed with over 100,000 miles and that may be true. I don't know why the odometer only reads 61,000 miles. I also know that I sold a 2000 Chevy Pickup that was totaled in the front end and Car Fax said that it had a clear accident history.I don't mislead potential customers in my ebay ads, and I have 45 positive feedbacks from people who feel the same way!Anyone who bid up till now and feels I have mislead them, please feel free to retract your bids.

DO YOU THINK HE TOLD THE PERSON HE SOLD THE PICKUP TO IT WAS A SALVAGE TITLE?

He didn’t know for sure if the mileage was off till after he ran the ad. He suspected but not by as much as it is ending up to be. He never saw the carfax till I emailed it to him. I sent a copy of the one ya'll posted here.

His messages to me make’s me believe him. It seems he just Fawked up this time when he thought he might have just gotten lucky found a low mileage rusty MB at the auction he purchased from

odo change out

It is listed as an 85 model year, and it has an 82 speedo/odo. 82 was the only year sold with an 85 mph speedo. If the car is an 85, the original speedo and odo were likely swapped out, as they ARE notoriosly short-lived. I agree the ad (and odo picture) are misleading, but these speedo heads are changed all the time.

I hope whoever purchases it does not pay more than around $1800. It has way too much rust to be worth much more than that.

Well, the current bid is 1875 and the reserve isn't met yet. Looks like he must have set the reserve based on the 61K mile odometer. There must be a reason it has been through three auctions and is for sale again inside of a year.

uh-huh

yup.. it will be like one of those GEICO INSURANCE commercials where the sign says dont touch and the guy touches the button and that big sledge hammer knocks him in his coconut!
If anyone sees he has that disclaimer that enough plus the rust bucket it is.. but unfortunalty someone will get it or he will move it to another unsuspecting pidgeon
