options on '84 and '85 300SD
looking at 2 300SD's. One is an '84 the other is an '85. Did they have power headrests and memory seats in '84? I know they did in '85. That is all for now.
Thanks David |

Believe Rear Headrests were an option, both cars had power seating standard. Memory came with the power seats.

do you mean that POWER headrests were an option? I have seen these cars with power seats but not memory. If a car has memory will it have to have power headreasts?

I mean that Rear Seat headrests were an option throughout, save for the SEL models. If a car has power seats, it has power headrests. Never seen one or the other in the States. I believe memory came standard after 85, not too familiar with power seats sans the memory.

On the S-class, if the driver's seat is memory, does that mean that the pass. side is also? It is not that way on my dad's 300E. He only has driver's memory. It is '87.

I'm pretty sure another difference was the anti-lock braking system came standard in 1985, but not in 1984.

My 84 300sd has power driver & passenger seats with memory on the drivers seat only. I don't have any rear headrest but have seen them on the 85. I have the original sales brochure for 84 and I don't see the rear headrest (with the capability of lowering them onto the package tray by a switch in the dash) as an available option. Just my experience.
Yes, I love this car too!! |

my mistake
Sorry, but I thought you were talking about the rear headrest. I don't see the power headrest for driver and passenger listed here either.
