Diesel Prices

Is the price of Diesel going down everywhere? I was very pleased to see $1.189 gallon yesterday.

P.E.Haiges 06-13-2003 09:23 AM

TX,

Probably is. It went from $2.00 last winter to $1.50 now (JUN) in NE PA.

Gasoline has gone down too.

They are going down... but still expensive here in the Tampa, FL area - the cheapest I can find around here is $1.53/gallon. I wish I could be paying less than my gasser friends AND get to brag about my better gas milage.

jfikentscher 06-13-2003 05:42 PM

I paid 1.47.9 yesterday at the Hess station on Rt. 70 in Brielle, NJ.

Thats about average for here. It got around 1.80 earlier in the year but that didn't last long. It was 1.39 last week.

Gasoline cost’s 1.04€ liter, that’s 4.43$ the gallon, and diesel 0.74€ liter that is 2,432$ the gallon if I got the math correct.

Gainesville, Fl. area

Around here it fluctuates between 1.70/gal to about 1.89/gal. Call me crazy, but I travel about 27 miles outta town to get my diesel at a Shell station off of U.S. 441 in some small town at $1.45/gal.

jhal 06-15-2003 01:30 PM

$1.39/ gallon at the Flying J station at S.R. 52 and I-75 north of Tampa, Fl. It is the lowest in the area.

84300DT 06-15-2003 04:19 PM

1.76 here in high$$$tax connecticut

IZELJIC 06-15-2003 11:23 PM

Cheers!!!

Piotr 06-15-2003 11:44 PM

$1.45 to $1.59 (at stations 10 miles apart) in Delaware.

EC93SE 06-15-2003 11:52 PM

$1.51 at the Hess in Camp Hill, PA. I noticed it was $1.44 in Pine Grove, PA during a road trip this weekend.

DslBnz 06-15-2003 11:58 PM

In New England, I usually pay about 1.41 for diesel. Not bad, but just made recent trip to Mannheim PA, filled up with a labled minimum cetane rating of '42', and my 350SD performed much better in fuel economy and power then the stuff I get in New England. They must sell real garbage diesel in New England. I'm surprised the thing even runs! The cetane level must be in the 30's!! Ugggh,:(

narwhal 06-16-2003 10:06 AM

Mississippi: $1.49 in town, $1.24 2 miles from downtown at the Flying J.

dpbrowne 06-16-2003 10:57 AM

Clinton New Jersey Hess station (Route 31 North) $1.31

rbarnes 06-16-2003 11:28 AM

I just paid $1.31 on Sat. I have noticed signs advertising $1.35/gal and even some higher here in the Northwest Louisiana Area.

Somewhat off topic, but on many occasions I have had to fill up at truck pumps when car diesel pumps are not available.

The truck sized nozzles require care, but are possible to use without spillage.

One night at the Flying J in Ellensburg, WA, I pulled up to the truck pumps with my 190D, not realizing that the car pumps around the front had diesel.

The console operator was quite condescending as she assured me the flow would be too fast and powerful for me to control.

Not long after, I was hauling a load to Spokane, WA, and I stopped at the same Flying J in my Peterbilt.

I resisted the temptation to pull up at the car pumps so I could be sure of being able to control the flow.

The cheapest I have found in Arizona is a Mobil station in Willcox where it's $1.369. I can't prove it, but it appears that diesel coming into AZ from California runs from $1.70 to $2.00 depending upon the station. Fuel from Texas appears to be in the range of $1.30 to $1.50. Figures....

bluebaby,
i know what you mean! i filled one time at a texaco just north of the fla.-ga line and i was able to fill an almost empty tank in about 14 seconds!! - the best thing was they had great vats of suds and huge long handled brushes to wash off the bugs !

ericnguyen 06-18-2003 09:32 PM

You guys are too lucky. The diesel price in San Jose, CA is about $1.80 as of today (6/17/2003)

Oil and energy companies elsewhere have always tried to fleece
Californians with high oil and energy prices.

diesel price just dropped here

down .07 from 1.76 to 1.69 in the last week:cool:

Maxwell 06-23-2003 11:27 AM

Up to 1.65, lowest was 1.59 here in LA

Lycoming-8 06-24-2003 12:34 AM

Here in NE Okla diesel is $1.29 while RegUNL is $1.33. Haven't been out of the area in a while, but seems we have been lucky this way for the last year or so. Part of reason is there are several refineries in the area, not a lot of NIMBIES around.

D.McCarroll 06-24-2003 02:55 PM

Ranges from $1.53 to $1.87 here in Seattle, depending on the brand and what part of the city you are in.
