'85 300D temp sensor/switch ID question
When I installed the '83 engine in my '85 300D I lost the temp switch/sensor located in the cyl head on the drivers side, closest to the radiator. I may eventually go back and get the adapter plug/sensor out of the head that came off and install it to allow me to hook the wire connector back up. I need someone to tell me what this sensor is used for. The wire connector is coming out of the same section of wiring harness as the WOT cutout switch located on top of the cam cover. I'm kinda thinking it has something to do with providing engine temp info to the climate control system.
thanks

I may be wrong, but I believe it delays the start of the blower until the engine heats up - very useful in the winter. I know when I disconnect it, the blower goes off. Probably a ground, but you would have to check the wiring diagram.
