How is the side molding attached?

I've got an 84 300D and the side molding is starting to come loose in a few places. How was the side molding originally attached to the car? Clips, adhesive, etc.. What is the recommended method for reattaching the molding?
Thanks for the advice.

Tim

The moulding in the middle of the door? Or the lower wide moulding?

The middle and bottom moldings are both held in place by clips. The middle has cylindrical clips that pop into the body holes, then the studs in the molding pop into the cylindrical clips. Be careful removing this molding as it is easily bent.

The bottom molding is held in place by clips that pop into a round hole. The rectangular part of the clip then goes into a channel groove on the molding.

Good luck,

Those use small red cylinders that push into the door. They wear out and may need replacing. I just bought several to replace some on my car. Found them to be cheap and easy to work with.
I bought them at MBMW. They are on Aurora North and in the yellow pages in the Seattle directory.

Old Deis,
Yeah, I know MBMW and have visited Abe a few times. Did you have to pull the entire piece of molding off to replace them?
Thanks.
