That's a nice lookin' car, love the color...imagine keeping a car from new and logging on 275K miles on it? That's 40K per year, wow! Now let's see, at a cost of $40K, Donnie pays depreciation cost of $5,500 per year to use the car not counting maintenance. With the high cost of the new Mercedes, it's never worth it to buy new. If buying after an initial leaseholding gives up the car, the cost would be a residual of say 57% after 3 years. Then the cost would be $22.8K, or lowering the cost to $2,825 per year.

Yeah that is a very beautiful color. I love MB's in that color. I wonder why not too many people choose that color. I wish my W124 was in that color.

edge, your logic is correct but I just wanted to mention that Donnie did not buy that car new. It belonged to one of his customers and he bought it a year or two ago with already high miles.

It's almost always the second and third owners who get the most value out of a Mercedes.

Shoe said that... << And he has maintained the car from new>>

I must have infered that he bought it new. You're right, it's the 2nd or 3rd owner that gets the most benefit.

Sweet ride Good to see them holding up for lots of miles. Keep us posted as you top 300k!

Is there any recommended change interval for the timing chain?

According to Donnie ther are none, all the research I have done I have not found anything to indicate I have to worry. This car has a massive two row chain so I am not worried.
