84 300D climate control
The fan on my 300D often takes forever to turn on (often 10 to 30 minutes) when the climate control is on the "economy" ("EC") mode. There is no airflow at all until it starts. Is it the climate control dash unit? the vacuums? (the blower motor was replaced a few months ago at GREAT expense!)

Sounds like the pushbutton unit is flaky - a common problem on older 123 chassis (mine does that too). A simple trick which works most of the time is to press one of the other buttons (AC or bi-level) then press EC, and the fan should kick on. If not, you either have other problems, or the pushbutton unit is really bad. You can either attempt to open it up & resolder (fixes things maybe half the time), or buy a rebuilt unit (easy to swap out yourself but will cost ~$250 for the part.)
Good luck, |

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
