Dumb question about the number of seats in 300SD

Dear friends:

There are 3 seat belt attachments (red/black plastic ones) in my 1984 300SD's rear seat row. However I can only find 2 seat belts for the entire row. Is such a huge 300SD designed specifically to accommodate only 4 people (driver, front passenger and 2 rear passengers)?

I want to attach a baby car seat for my baby + dad + mom + wife + me. If there's only 2 rear seat belts, it's too bad.

Best regards,

Eric

The center belt probably slipped into the crevice. Feel around for it. If you can't find it, there's a tab at either end of the seat bottom near the door. Push the tabs outward and pull up on the forward edge of the seat bottom. Then pull the seat bottom forward and look for the belt.

I've seen lots of olde cars where the PO removed the center belt as it flopped around on the seat. Most likely pushed under, but often removed, too.

Dear Blackmercedes:

Thank you very much for your very clear and thorough replies. I will search for the mysterious seat belt tomorrow morning.

Best regards,

Eric
