Manual Transectomy TOMORROW!!!
 

Cross your fingers....
Scout and I are going to the boneyard early tomorrow to perform a manual transectomy on a early 80's 240D. That patient is destined for the crusher but a few of it's organs will someday breathe new life into my beloved 300TD, Marlene.

Maybe there will be some pictures too.

Isn't this rain nice ? and it is forecast for all of tomorrow.... we don't get much rain in July in Central Texas.... :D

Wouldn't you know?...Waterloo hasn't had a forecast with an 80% chance of rain in a coon's age. And Greg, just were was this rain last spring when you wanted to plant 6000 feet of melons?

Well, at least those Benzos are on the higher ground out there...or, maybe I should just wait until Seth is home. At least he's PADI certified.

Laugh ? He has not posted anything funny this morning... that IS his suit.... he has a fine sense of styling... notice how the boot color is picked up in the hat... and that the spiral zipper with accent to the top tends to minimize his waist line....not much , but isn't all fashion illusion anyway ?

The only problem is that when he is wearing it people make ASSUMPTIONS.... and leave the area.... so things like getting a drink and hamburger requires that Randy go behind the counter at the newly abandoned hamburger joint and figure out how to operate their cooking equipment...

Pulled the gear box, flywheel, driveshaft and all associated trinkets (plus a power steering pump, manual right side mirror and an IP to injector pipe for a drip timer) in 2 hr 14 min 32 sec.

Piece 'o cake.

Everytime I turn a wrench on one of these cars, I stand in absolute awe of their engineering ingenuity. We are truly fortunate to own them.

BTW-Greg,
I'll have you know my waistline is minimzed. After I discovered that BBQ sausage, bacon and steak was actually diet food, I lost 34 lbs in three months.

PS...one more thing; when we got there this morning, there was another W123 sitting on TOP on the 240D which contained the coveted grail. For grins, I opened all four doors. They opened and shut just fine. Amazing!!
