I've five of the 123 series Mercedes diesels and I've chucked the auto trannies in every one and replaced with the manual trannies. You're very fortunate as I'm always running across 190 5 speed manual trannies and wishing that I could find enough 123 5 speeds to refit all my vehicles.

Search out all the parts and do a replacement, you'll not be sorry, plus the car will be more fun to run!!!
