Thumbs up Money well spent

Well guys I picked up kitten (1985 300 d cream outside tan leather inside). All I can say is "oh my God".Holds the road like a magnet (yes I was running late and grapevine was set to close again-cruise locked at 75 and nothing-no noise ,smoke, shake, rattle and roll).Rpm's steady up and down, abs system on the dime. There is no way in hell (and with moderator's permission) those sobs aka Mercedes Benz of Bakersfield aka Sangera ******** knew there was something god awful wrong and (thanks to Enrique) caused it.For what so I would go there to get a new one for them to trash by incompetence.I am going to have a long lunch today by going right to the dealership service area (Armani suit and all) pull the car right up to the front, stereo playing Connie Francis "Who's Sorry Now",then off goes the radio and me in a mean voice saying "you are David H. Ragsdale aka D.H.R. that is stamped in my service book-motherf**er".Seeing the look on everyone's face(I will make sure a crowd is present)-mastercard says it the best "priceless".

I get it. He got lousy service at a dealer. Went to a qualified independent and fixed the car. Is thrilled with the ride. And is going back to the dealer to tell it to stick it.

I'd avoide the latter -- and just be pleased with the ride. Congrats.

I just want you to know that I live in Bakersfield and will never take any of my Mercedes back to Sanghera/Mercedes Benz If Bakersfield. When I took my c230 in to them they wouldn't give me the time of day but when I brought my S class in they bowed down to me. However, they are a rip-off, are incompetent, and as for David Ragsdale-he's a nothing. There are many competent MBZ shops around. My favorite is Eurasian Auto. Try them if you ever have a problem. They're great!

Is this the same car you posted about which had the low compression in one or two cylinders? If so, can you tell us was Enrique's diagnosis was and what he did to fix it? Was it a valve adjustment?

Yes this is the same one . What Enrique found out and he said he has seen it only one time before (he even had someone from Silver Star-Bev Hills) come out.It had a dead cylinder(back one) he show me with the head off all of the cylinders (all looked brownish except for the back one-it was like a kitchen pan silver) he said the engine ran without oil.Well I showed him the receipts and I thought maybe he thought I ran the engine without oil. That was the first and only time I ever heard him curse, then he said "Darryl you did not run the engine without oil",then he pointed to the last receipt from Mercedes Benz of Bakersfield. He wanted me to think about this-rehoning that cylinder was going to cost about $3500-5000 mostly in labor, engine in a crate was now $11,200(did you all know that they are remanufactured?).I was crushed he felt bad,I found engines in the paper-he advised unless you know the history your taking a very risky chance.

Then on the way down to him with the pink in hand (I think he was going to give me something for the trouble) a 1985 Mercedes Benz 300 tdt wagon with California emission got ***** slapped from the back.He was the mechanic on this car with 135k miles and was informed by the owner of it before the insurance got a hold of it-engine complete intact for $900.00.

Saw the engine as it arrived (got pics) 7 weeks later transplant complete and I already have put on it 12k miles 4 oil changes by Enrique-monitored it for the first 2k miles then another 2k (like a brand new engine.Altogether Enrique put down only 16 hours then costs of engine,I told him not to do that since I was going to nail Sangera,he said no this is for the car.Soo nice and classy.
