Help--My AC system is flooded with muck...what do I do?.(85 300D)

I removed my old compressor and receiver drier on my 85 300D--and replaced them---Green muck keep came pouring out, I think its a mix of oil, water and whatever...it came out of the hoses going to the compressor and to the drier..it just kept on draining and dripping, for awhile I THOUGHT ABOUT TURNING THE CAR UPSIDE DOWN and SHAKING IT...

After a while ( 6 hours) I lost my patience and installed the new compressor and drier and used an air venturi vacuum pump.for about 30 min...I though the vauum pump would suck the muck out, but I didnt pull much out

Just how do I ensure that I get all the muck out?

Did I already doom myself to failure by installing the new receiver drier/compressor before I got all the muck out?

How did all this muck get into the system--theres at least a couple of cups of it, or MORE...

a/c muck

sounds like that green muck is probably a mixture of refrigirant oil/flourescent leak dye and most likely the shrapnel from your old compressor..........Should have flushed the system prior to overhaul----sorry.

The "muck" is the oil required for normal operation, along with UV fluorescent leak detector dye.

You need to vent the system, remove the compressor, and add 160 mL of the correct oil for your refrigerant (mineral oil for R12, ester or PAG oil for R134a). If you don't, the compressor will lock up shortly.
