What is this part on my 240D? Tip of hose (vacuum) was broken going into this and obviously not functioning for awhiile. I didn't notice anything not working on the car with it disconnected. Can tip be repaired or need replacing?

Thanks.

I can't quite tell but that resembles the cruise control deal in my former 240D. Perhaps someone can verify or refute this.

I was thinking it was the cruise also, but it has been working fine with this tip broke off inside the screw cap. If it was getting vacuum to it, it couldn't have been much.

thanks...I'll wait and see who can confirm.

That is your cruise control actuator.

Everything seems to be in working order with the cruise control with this hose disconnected. whats it's purpose for?

Thanks.

Don't own this model car, but it is most likely a vent line for vac.

EdV is correct, that is the diaphram vent line and it is routed thro' inside the car, open ended, to keep dirt out of the mechanism.

The yellow and black line is the vacuum activator.

Yup, that's correct...I'd fix it...it may work fine now, but you'll be sucking grime into the diaphragm, which could cause premature problems eventually.
