The Body Tag
I suppose everyone here on the message board has seen the little tag underneath the hood above the radiator with some numbers on them. That's the body tag, and if you know what the numbers mean, you can learn alot about your car. I learned my 1981 300SD was not manufactured in Sindelfigen, but Bremen. I don't know if W126 300SDs came from Sindelfigen or Bremen originally, but that's interesting to know. And I was looking at the numbers, and where there is supposed to be a three digit number to represent your interior color option, mine has a four digit number for some reason. I forgot what the number was. It began with a 9, 9xxx. What's up with that if anyone knows.
