1985 300SD hi beams not working left side

This is something strange on this car. I have 12.15 volts to
the head light connector just in front of the sealed beam lite.
Yet when you hook it up, it don't work. You can take jumpers
and go to it and it don't work. Keep the same ground and
go to the battery and it works. Go figure. Anybody got any
idea's. Is there a relay for the hi beams???? Help......

This sounds really familiar. I think what I found was a cracked fuse-not blown, just cracked. Check the fuse list, I blieve there are individual fuses for both the high beam bulbs. Look at the fuses real close, there may be a stress crack in the metal, enough to get a voltage reading, but not enough to allow a good current flow to light the bulb.

Thanks Gilly. I will check them. But does anybody know, what
the fuse numbers are, or what area of the fuse box
they are in. I don't have the factory manual, but I will look
around, and see if I can find it.

There should be a map of the fuses inside the lid on the fuse box.
