I just got a New Robinair Vacuum Pump--what to use for Oil?
I just got a New Robinair Vacuum Pump--but the Vacuum Oil hasnt arrived yet , and wont do so for 4 more days.and I would like to do an AC Job tomorrow.. Can I use some other Oil fora one time use? I was wondering if I could use Air Compressor Oil--the reason I am in such a rush, is my system is losing pressure and needs the Suction Line changed immediately and I cant wait the 4 days for the oi--i am afraid of compressor damage....

I haven't seen Larry post for a while and he would be the most likely person on this forum to answer your question. You might want to ask it over at aircondition.com.

Use only Robinaire vacuum pump oil. It should be available at any refrigeration parts wholesaler.
I'm not to sure about car a/cs but after evacuating a badly contaminated (ie burned out) hermetic system it is a good practice to change the oil.
