Ambient Air Sensor
Replaced the ambient air sensor on the wifes car yesterday and what a difference it makes. Before replacement, I could only get cold air with the temp dial set to "Min." Now, I can actually control the temperature. I must say, the placement of that sensor under the dash makes for some interesting bending of the wrists. Seems to me, they could have made that one a little easier to get to...then again the original made it 19 years.

What diagnosis made you come to the conclusion that the air sensor was bad??

I believe someone on the board informed me that this was my problem after I had exhausted all other options. I initially thought my temp wheel was bad on the selector panel, but when I swapped the whole thing out with the one from my other car, the problem didn't go away. I asked for help and someone told me that the ambient air sensor would do this to my system.

I ordered mine from performance products along with about a half dozen other items I needed for my two cars. I think I paid about 15 or 18 dollars.
