W123 Outer Door Handle Removal
Hi All,
I'm going to try to fix the lock tumbler on my 123. Can the door handle outer piece be removed without taking off the door liner? My 58 220S all I had to do was unscrew a big phillips head screw on the door an the handle came off nicely. Hoping, like many other things Mercedes, that they stuck with something that worked well. It's funny, going from the 58 to the 300D there is still an unmistakable Mercedes feel to how things work on the cars.

Unfortunately you'll have to take off the door card as there is a screw holding the front of the handle as well.

There is a front screw, but ussually it will come out exactly as you described.
If not, pull the door panel and loosen the front screw! Michael
