Another Vacuum Question

I know this has been covered about a million times and I hate to even ask for fear of being verbally lashed and banned from the board, but here goes. I have searched the archives for a detailed vacuum system troubleshooting guide, but find none for my problem.

My wife showed up at my work this morning and informs me she couldn't get the car to shut off. I think to myself, I have had this problem before...different car. I check all of the normal suspects to no avail. The car will turn off just fine if you are sitting in the drivers seat, lock the doors, then turn off the car. If you don't lock the doors, the car keeps running strong with the key turned off.

If someone can point me to a thread which details the troubleshooting of the vacuum system, I would sure appreciate it. This is the wife's car after all which means that this is priority number one for me.

Mike you have a leak somewhere in the door locking system. Until you have time to do proper troubleshooting I would suggest disconnecting the yellow lines near the brake booster and plug the rubber connection coming from the vacuum source. You will need to troubleshoot and resolve the leak in the door lock system. You will be able to manually lock/unlock all the doors and will have to manually lock the car from the drivers door.

You can pull the carpeting up on the drivers floor to get to the door vacuum lines. If I remember right it splits there for passenger front and the rear and then on the rear drivers floor it splits again for left and right. You can test it just by sucking on the lines with your mouth and finding which ones don't hold if you don't have a mity vac or something like that. Oh, in each of the previously mentioned places there are two sets of lines, one for locking and one for unlocking so you have to find the right one.
