tranny and cruise control questions

first thanks for all your help on the retro fit its nice and cold !!
ahhhhhh! two questions

thump when coming to a stop when it downshifts..

small shift slippage when car is cold from 1st to second
seems to be ok at high speeds is this vacuum related?

cruise control surges at 55-60 ok at 65-80 mpg seems vaccum-ish

the green vacuum resistor in the white disk on top of engine is this the one for the tranny

Hi,

Just ran accross your post and perhaps your problems have already been solved. I'd like to share with you my experience with you for the indentical problems regarding the tranny. After receiving all the great advices and many expensive solutions I decided to do something that I should have done in the first place, that was to check the ATF level. I was shocked to find mine was extremely low, to a point that I could not even see the smear on the dipstick. I ended up adding 2-1/4 of ATF and that solved all my tranny problem. It costed about less than $5. I felt kind of stupid, but heck, never too late to learn. Just want to share my dumb experience.

DL
