oil return tube
 

I was under the car today looking for oil leak.

I think I will try to rebuild the turbo myself- God I love this board

Question: Is the oil return line that the air filter housing plugs into supposed to be loose. Cant really see to well. there is some rubber where it plugs into the oil pan- I think

This seems to be where most of the oil is coming from- oil leak.

Now I took off the " U " shaped tube and the gasket ( right after turbo) is chewed and much oil - pretty wet
The turbo whines high pitch

Got the tach working- tried the cig filter trick- I just put some OXGUARD - electrician dope -seems fine - Ill let you know after the car is road worthy again

Who knows about front oil seal on the 617 OM - I have major oil on air conditioner compressor- I think this is the main cause of that oil leak
