STUCK on one frustrating repair...

I have been trying to replace the tensioner on my 210.606 for about a month now. It looked straight forward ... two bolts. Well, the lower one would not come off because it would run into the pulley.

So... STEP ONE: remove the pully and clutch - right?

Well, this requires a tool that costs $85... STEP TWO: I made my own.

One week later, I get in there to remove the pully and I don't have enough clearence and need to ... STEP THREE: remove the radiator.

Tonight, I try to remove the radiator (thinking it would be as easy as it was on my 124) and can't get the bugger out because it bounces into the fan...STEP FOUR: remove the fan.

So, the fan is off and I go to pull the radiator and hits against the fan clutch. Back to STEP ONE...

I'm stuck - I want to remove the clutch and pulley to get at the tensioner. I need to remove the radiator to remove the clutch. But the radiator will not come out with the clutch in place - HELP!!!

slowmoe,

I'm not familiar with MB as new as yours, but did you remove the radiator shroud first? Just a thought.

That was between steps 2 and 3.
