They list it as having leather seats up top, then say they are MBTex.... which is actually better in my opinion....
It sure looks nice... but brown paint...... think about what it would look like in the MB Teal .....

Of course, Brown is not the most beautiful color, nothing like my Ivory/Palomino, but it is pretty nice and I suspect the price at the end of the auction will be less than $5k.

Much easier to paint a nice car than start trying to fix a bunch of mechanical things on a good looking wreck....

The star is incorrectly positioned in the steering wheel, the wood trim in the center of the dash is loose on the right side (next to the glove box), and it has a no-name radio in it. Always makes me wonder when I see such a nicely prepared car with silly things wrong with it.

Paint Color

That's not the traditional chocolate brown metallic. Looks to me to be the same color as Tom Pindelski's 300SD. I actually like brown Mercedes and dark colors in general.

I looked at this car within a few hours of its' listing. I don't think the Manganese Brown paint is awful, I actually like it alot. Nothing beats the color of my dads old 85 Wagon (Champagne), man what a beautiful car that was. Too bad this wagon isn't an '85 and equipped with the 3rd seat and rear headrests. I assume it doesn't have the 3rd seat or else the seller certainly would have mentioned it. I love the look of the W123.

Must be the low mileage number. My 300TD-T is easily as nice as this with a Pioneer CD head unit and changer, and a lot of new stuff, shocks, bushings, brakes, tires, master cyl, etc, etc but it also has 215k on it.

In any case, it looked pretty good and if a person did not have to do anything to it (unlikely) good service is certain.

One thing to remember is that only 1% of the W123 production accounted for wagons. They are thus much rarer and in many minds more desireable. I think the price was about $1500 - 2000 high however.
