I had someone tailgating me forever today, so I blinked the brake lights several times (I was already going 78 in a 70!!) and he backed off maybe an extra 10 feet, but slowly encroached back up to right behind me. I really need something to make these people get back. Maybe just a scrolling LED sign in the rear window that says "I'll release nails on the road if you don't stop tailgating." Or something.....I bet that'd work.

I just gradually slow down and increase the distance in front of me to the next car. Eventually they figure out that the closer the get the slower we are both going to drive. If I'm in the left lane, I will move over and let them by after making my point.

Yesterday some POS SUV was riding me, and I was in a bad mood. I was like F you take a look at what MB brakes can do and I slammed on them hard enough to engage the ABS. Which will stop my car about 3 times faster than his Ford SUV brakes could ever dream of. He turned white and came within an inch of buying me a new bumper, and paint job, damn almost got one. Needless to say he backed way, way off.

With my beater cars, like the former SD it was great sport. I actualy got one lady in a CRV to lock her wheels up, spill her coffee, and almost nail the curb.

Awsome, I am never daring enough to do that with my car. If I had a POS non-mb beater I'd do it....I need to get an old buick for beater use...they can take a beating and keep moving.

I was in an unusaly pissed off mood, I would have thrown a fist full of change out the window if I had it.

The kicker was I was already going just over 40 in a 25, it wasn't like I was going slow.

I can see many brake checks in the Jetta's future. Tailgating a car with nothing to lose is a bad idea. The trunk is broke anyway, maybe if someone hit it, it would pop...

I usually just try to hack a good loogie and let it fly.

The way I see it, if the beater's paid for, running ok, and damage may render it inop, I'm not gonna do something as stupid as that, that's just as stupid as tailgating, not to mention, who wants a case of whiplash for something as trivial as that?

Sure its a free pos that I hate, he wouldn't have totaled it. Just messed the bumper up nothing some duck tape can't fix.

I've had the usual people passing me routine.

Plus a mechanic, who was starting his own shop, suggested I use him for my cars. I asked if he had any diesel experience.

He said never mind - he didn't want to work on dirty cars.

Of course I would get whiplash, only a new S550 with air suspension can fix it.

I thought we were talking about the SDL. Well, I guess in that case if you hate the car, by all means total it. But I tend to see it from other standpoints. Was the free car really worth it if having a guy rear end you meant downtime from the office not making money to see the doctor cause of whiplash or something? I'm talking about actual damage to your body, not insurance fraud.

I typed it wrong, I ment VW brakes.

I wouldn't get whip lash, it would have just been a little tap. Lose a free car that I hate and get a nice say $5k check to buy something I want. Oh yeah so worth it.
