I did a compression check, I all I have to say is...

#4-375 psi #3-350 psi #2-375 psi #1-45 psi!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like I have a junkyard motor and a swap in the near future

Have you checked the valve clearance on #1?

Yeah, I did and it was just fine...I even readjusted the valves and it still read 3 bar, so I am in the process of getting a new motor.

Why don't you do a leak down test to determine whether they problem is just the head ?

Go to the ' Search ' button and type in ' leak down test'.....

I now have a junkyard motor out of a 1982 240D stickshift. It is great because I will be able to eliminate all of the emissions crap that the 83 has. And it has a block heater!!!
