Offer on the table for SMOKELESS II

My wife said SELL IT but I want to hear your $0.02

History: This car was advertised For Sale for C$6,500 (conversion rate: C$1.40 to US$1.00) and thru bargaining, I was able to take it home for C$3,500. So far, I've put in my labour of love, this forum's help and below:
Repair and Maintenance to-date
17-Oct-03 Fuel Main Filter & Pre Filter $ 13.19
17-Oct-03 Key duplicate $ 8.02
18-Oct-03 Gunk degreaser (2 cans) $ 9.14
19-Oct-03 Alda adjusted (3/4 ccw) $ -
19-Oct-03 EGR disabled (plugged hose) $ -
19-Oct-03 Cleaned banjo bolt & installed new vacuum line hose (turbo boost line to switchover valve) $ -
19-Oct-03 Liqui Moly Diesel System Cleaner (2061) $ 19.06
21-Oct-03 Battery Tray install $ 90.86
21-Oct-03 Becker Grand Prix radio install $ 100.00
Total $ 240.27

C$5,500 is the offer, should I let SMOKELESS II go?

No, send them my way. I have a car they can buy for that. Then you won't be traumatized by having to sell so quickly.

You're quite the flipper!

Talking

No Jassz, I am not in the buying and selling cars. I am getting pressured by the war department (wife) as we have now 4 cars with a 2 car garage. The war department hates the look of the driveway looking like a Used Car lot.

What car are you flipping?

Ah heck. We have a two car garage, three drivers at home, one away from home, and keep six cars here. All old, high mileage. 4 MB plus a Suburban and a Blazer. They all run and I try to keep them looking nice. Since '88 SL for wife was latest addition, wife isn't about to tell me we have too many! I love all the cars 'cept the Blazer.

I would sell any of the cars I own for $5500. I'd even sell the dog for that. :p He's got low mileage, but he'd never pass emission testing. :p

So what did you decide to do? Sounds like you have the perfect number of cars for the set up to me.:p

Bob K -

You have discovered one of the major secrets in the realm of multi-car ownership. Buy the wife her own neat set of wheels and most of the resistance to your purchases evaporates.

My signature shows a 1970 280 SL, but it was actually purchased for my wife. She loves it. I maintain it. She drives it. Currently looking to build myself a street rod ('40 Ford or the likes) to replace one 300D. As long as I don't try to sell the 280 SL, no problem.

Cheers,
Wes
