what/where is the boost cable or something that people clean?
I am of course referring to the '79 SD. I have read about people cleaning somekind of bowden cable, or is that just the tranny> Could someone please post a picture and the best way to clean it? I am just looking for ways to make my car run more efficiently.
Thanks David

Maybe you mean the brake booster line? It runs from the vacuum pump to the brake booster. Sometimes the ports for the vacuum accesories can plug with soot and the ports are either cleaned out, or for $20-30 I recommend just replacing this whole line. If the ports plug up it can cause various driveability or shifting problems.

I bet he means the line from the intake manifold to the firewall to the ALDA (boost sensor?). The banjo bolt going into the maniflod clogs and messes up the whole thing... you just take it out and clean it. It's on the very back of the manifold.
