Squeaky rear-end...help!
The left-rear corner of my 1987 300D has developed a "squeaky" sound that has me puzzled. I had Les Schwab look at the car and they couldn't determine what it was. They sprayed some lubricant on some bushings and the car still squeaks. It seems to have gotten worse and I can't seem to find the culprit! Help!!! Any thoughts on this one? The car rides and tracks beautifully! Do I need new shocks or ????
Please help me, the squeaking is driving us crazy!!! Thanks.

I had the exact same problem years ago with my 190 (same suspension).
The culprit is the outer bushing (i.e., near the wheel) on the lower control arm of rear suspension (the big member to which the lower end of the spring is attached). Mine were toast, whereas the rest of the suspension members remain original to this day. Hope this helps.
