slave cylinders and brake hose problem

looks like it never ever ends. i just changed the brake master cylinder in my 82 240d. now i have a leak somewhere in the brake system. my guess is the slaves or the rubber brake lines are now leaking due to the pressure from the master.
does anyone have any tips to avoid any landmines when i change the brake hoses (swollen) and rebuild the slaves? is it as straightforward as detaching, cleaning, then reinstalling? thanks for your help.

Slaves

What do you mean by slaves...

Wherever there are masters, there must be slaves. The politically correct name are wheel cylinders or calipers.

Should all work pretty easy since it sounds like the calipers aren't frozen. It isn't hard to rebuild them or change the brake hoses as long as the calipers aren't coroded... in which case it's probably replacement time.

Brakes

Can you find the leak..I wouldn't think the caliphers are leaking either internally or externally..It is not unusual for them to rust up and freeze and when that happens you will have pedal...find the source of the leak and reply..

If you have disappearing brake fluid, don't overlook the clutch system. A leaking clutch master cylinder can drop the fluid down behind the floor mat and you'd never see it.
