C220CDi on Temporary Loan
Whilst I am having a paint repair done to my E320CDi Estate I have been using a C220CDi Saloon.
Nice car, but I am having a touch of claustrophobia as it is much smaller inside than my E Class. http://uk-commerce.com/temp/c220diesel.jpg Naturally the performance is a lot different but the main surprise is the Fuel economy. I am getting 41 MPG (UK Gallons) going around in give and take conditions. As it is a loaner the company purchased the Basic "Elegance" specification without any extras. However this is still a good spec for a reletavly cheap car. Speaking to the Manager, who run 12 of these to loan out, he says the reliability is 100%. Mine is 15 Months old and has done a little over 25k Miles. Showing no sigh of wear anywhere which has to be good as the drivers usually dont give a damm. You boys will love these Diesels when they finally turn up in the US. Mike http://uk-commerce.com/temp/mb_banner1a.jpg |
Mike,
Are those the imperial gallon consisting of 5 quarts like Canada used to have before they went metric? So compared to a US gallon your mileage would be 32MPG? P E H |
US Gallon v Imperial Gallon
The ratio of one to the other is -
1 US gallon = 0.8327 UK gal or the other way 1.201 US Gallons = 1 Imperial Gallon I had not realised the Canadians still used the Imperial. Mike |
Mike,
Canada used the Imperial gallon up until the point they wisely changed to the metric system. Their dsistances are in kilometers also. I don't know when they changed, but Canada has been metric for more than 12 years. P E H |
