CCV Question

After reading some of Dr Diesel's comments on another post concerning the clogging and hardening of the CCV tubes and rubber grommets on the W210 diesels I am considering cleaning and/or replacing those componets. Would it be advisable to remove the intake to completly eliminate the possibility of crude falling onto the top of the valves? I will have to check with Phil in partsshop to see if he can source these parts, I hate to have to go the to the dealer the one in BR does not know the meaning of reasonable pricing
