I think when my mom had the car, she must have hit those parking barriers a few times.... this oil pan has seen better days...

Is that thing brand new??? Did you pressure wash? Great job getting it all in that kind of shape - want to fix my car up like that?

Very nice. Also notice he is in Dallas.. no road salt.

Please posts some pics of the rest of the car. The pan and engine look fantastic. Looks almost off the factory floor.

bodyart27 11-09-2003 09:41 PM

thanks....

I've been working a ton on this car the past 4 months or so going through a lot of maintenance items. As I go, I just clean like mad. That lower oil pan for example took me about 3 hours of scrubbing while laying on my back last weekend as a "prep" job for replacing the oil pan. With the belts off, the crank pully got cleaned up, etc. You get the idea... clean like mad as you go... of course that's why a "simple" job takes me 4 times as long as anyone else ;)

The engine / car has currently 183.9K miles on her and she is at the point I'd drive her cross-country and not think twice. She was bought in Texas and has been in Dallas all it's life

I can't believe how new that looks. You'd die if you saw my stuff. I think they are all mechanically sound, but I believe in lubricating them with oil :)

There's only one way to describe that kind of clean.

It's DISGUSTINGLY clean! But, it's still a nice job!

I think your efforts are awesome and the results show it. Once I finish all the work on my 2 cars and I am sure all the leaks are fixed I plan to do a full motor trans and under the hood detail adding to that highly polished parts such as valve cover, vacuum pump etc.

You should feel great pride in your effort, again AWESOME!

Sheesh! My engine only has 40k miles on it, and it's not THAT clean underneath. Nice work!!

Wait a minute.....I thought the whole reason to own these cars was to see who could accumulate the most oil and "things" on the under side of the engine..Ha-Ha!!
Fantastic job! Looks like a color version of the Chilton's manual
Do that to mine please.
Matthew
