The chankshaft splashing around in the oil will create air bubbles in it. Bubbly oil doesn't lubricate very well.

Here at Wal-Mart, we change it no matter if it's clod, warm, hot, or burn-your-hand-off hot. We ALWAYS use a torque wrench set to the proper setting based on the make/model chart we have (In a OM617 case it's 20 ft/lbs). Some other stores arn't as lucky to have a person who cares about others cars like I, doing their oil work.

We even had a Chevy 2500 with the 6.5TD come through and the owner REQUESTED Valvoline 10w-30. I made sure to double check with him as the oil that came out had a strong burnt smell and was BLACK as black can be.

I've known a few people who have used j-lube and their oil plugs were left loose enough to fall out and lose all the oil!
On other ocassions they either underfilled or even put the wrong transmission fluid in. I've heard too many horror stories about those BOZOS, some that are down right criminal in nature.
