126 SD 617 into 114 - how difficult?

I might have a line on a good 72 250 with no motor. How willing would it be mechanically and structurally to accept the engine and transmission out of a W126 300SD?

Thanks,
Sixto

It would be quite a project. I have a customer that did it to a regular 300D (115.114). The oil filter is a serious problem, he had a machinist cut the housing down and rewelded it back together and he uses an early BMW filter insert half the length of the original MB. He did some creative work around the steering with the pan and numerous other special creations.
