1980 300D engine into a 1982 240D? Will my 240D tranny work with a 300D engine? I know it's a stupid question but please, indulge me.

It seems like that is the same thing that dieseldon just successfully accomplished, but he used a turbo 617 motor from a little newer car. So yes that should be possible.
