Amber brake warning light
I just replaced my front calipers as well as the left side upper control arm. Now the amber brake ( pad wear) light is on. I even unpluged the wires from the harness to see if I had a short--previously, the wear indicators were not installed--I installed them).
What else could be causing the light to remain on? It seems that it first lighted while I was bleeding the front brakes. Is there a warning device to sense a loss of fluid that I might have triggered? If so where is it, and how do I reset it? Thanks for the help Michael |
Low fluid trips the red "BRAKE" light , same as if you have the parking brake on. The amber light is just for pad wear. You have a short somewhere. I'd start at the wheel and work your way backwards. Look at the wires carefully because you may just have a worn or pinched wire.
