Headlights flicker when wipers sweep!
 

My headlights are flickering every time I use electrical power. If I use the power windows or turn on the wipers, the headlights briefly dim. Alternator is new, battery is 3 years old. Car starts everytime and battery light is not on. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Could be dirty fuses, and most likely on the highest amp draw item being used, ie the headlites. Could also be dirty headlite switch; but after 25 years of older Benz Diesel driving, have never had a problem with the headlite switches or even the old foot dimmer on the 190Db.

Weird deal, got in the car this morning and not one of the previous problems occured. Can an intermittent bad ground cause this?

As long as the circuit is broken, things will not work as designed. So, yes I would say that it could very well be the problem. Intermittent problems are always the hardest to diagnose.

You must have the rare Lucas Electrics model Benz......

the "uni-wiper" on my 2001 CLK rocks the whole car at a stop light when it swings back and forth!

is it me or do you think it is weird that on my 84 300sd the passenger side get both wipers moving across their side of the glass and the driver (who really needs to see) only gets one blade sweeping in front of them

I always thought they installed them backwards!
