Front Seat Removal
I am in the process of swapping out interior parts from a totaled 1985 300TD to my daily driver. I have searched for posts on front seat removal and have found some. My question is where are the two rear retaining bolts located? I found the front bolts with no problem but could not find the rear ones. Any help and/or photo would be a great help.
Thanks |
It helps to slide the seat all the way forward, and raise the height fully. You'll see them right at the end of the rails.

Thanks. I will go out at lunch today and take a look. I have been trying to do it at night by the light of a flashlight.

There are philips head screws at the end of the rails, but those wont get the seat out. The 10mm bolts are inside the post at the back of the rails. Right down next to the floor. They're hard to see - you almost have to feel for them.

Hope you are enjoying the car Paul.
The front 10mm fasteners are exposed with the seat slid back. The rear ones are exposed when the seat is slid all the way forward and as high up as it can go. Don't forget to disconnect the seat belt alarm connection prior to lifting the seat out. |
The car has been great. I have been adding onto the house with little time left for the car. I need to get it ready for the winter though.
The one main item it needs are the accumulators off the other car (they were new) along with the bilsteins for the front. A little bouncy in the rear right now. Took the car to Delaware for a college visit and my daughter was not happy riding in the rear with the bounce. Thanks for the reply. |
Found the bolts! Just needed to get that height adjustment all the way up. Without doing that, there is no way to see the bolts.
Thanks all! |
