Injector replacelement on 85 300sd
I replaced my injectors on my 300sd, and noticed that after washing the engine, there are little bubbles around the injectors.
When I ordered the injectors, they told me I would have to order heat shields, and that I needed 10mm ones. When I got the parts, the injectors came with them. The ones that came out of the car had a smaller inside hole than the new ones. Would this cause any issue? Any ideas? Is this common. I tried to clean the holes in the head, and torqued them down to 55ft lbs. Thanks. |

was the engine hot-ish?
did you drive to a carwash to wash the engine? if so the heat shields may have been hot enough to make the water bubble off... I have a bit of that because I have to replace the injector return lines. the little bit of diesel that seeps down hits the hot heat shield/crush washer and cooks off...
my mechanic said it wasnt the crush washer- which was what I was thinking after seeing the bubbling. ??? cheers, Kevin
