When I drove over the road I used both pumps as the truck held 300 gallons. I suppose someone could steal fuel through the opposite pump if you started filling one side and went inside and left the pump running. It would be easy to do with a truck considering the usual fillup quantity.

I just returned home to Long Island NY from Phoenix with a newly acquired '95 S350 Turbodiesel and used truck stops for refueling along the way. Fuel was as little as $1.23/9 in Oklahoma on Rte.40. One truck stop had the sattelite pumps. Since the fill is on the right side of the Benz I had to remove the nozzle fron the pump on the left, place it on the ground and start the pump. then go around to the right side snd remove the nozzle and start that pump to fill the tank. It brought back memories. By the way I got 24.43 mpg for the 2569 mi. trip which was done at a pretty constant 80-85 mph. The car weighs 4430 lbs.

I use Flying J fuel in my 300D exclusively. It runs better, starts better and does not smoke as much. Also I have been able to get 250,000 miles out of a set of fuel injectors. Also I buy Power Service fuel additive there. I get enough to treat 300 gallons for less than ten bucks. I don't need it much as long as I stick with Flying J fuel, but I still treat every fourth or fifth tankful to help keep everything clean.
