AT cooler hoses
Hi,
What is the reccomended interval to change the cooler hoses (the rubber ones that go to the radiator) for the automatic transmission? The old ones on there look fine, but the connections are very rusty. The replacements sold here on mercedesshop looked better, they have a wire wrapped around to protect the lines; my current ones dont. I am thinking of doing a trans fluid flush, and are thinking of just pulling those lines and replacing while Im at it. Is this a job lie the oil cooler where there is a large hance that connections on the radiator could strip or break? I dont know the age of the cooler lines, or the radiator, I just know that this stuff works now, but I might was well cange them now when Im doing fluid, or else wait for a few years... Not that I see any reason why they should go bad in the next few years. Theyre just an unknown. How tough is it to do? Does all the ATF flow out when you undo these lines? Are the ATF lines succeptable to breakage. Thanks, JMH

If you're quick you can replace the hoses without much loss. Even if you're slow you won't lose more than a cup of ATF.
